Did You Know?

… that young adolescents have a month just to celebrate them? Well, October is that month! As such, we take this time to celebrate being a lively, engaged, and informed Middle School. We use many resources to guide our professional development and exploration of best practices, including the Association for Middle Level Education (formerly NMSA). Currently, Middle School faculty are engaged in discussion and reflection about AMLE’s sixteen guiding principle for schools for young adolescents. Faculty will explore which characteristics we exemplify the most, as well as on which we can improve. I look forward to sharing thoughts that come out of our faculty conversations. October is also the time our parent sessions are in full swing!  Please note the following dates:

Tuesday, October 16 – Bring a picnic dinner, and join us from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. for a parent session on how to help your child be successful in all arenas of Middle School:  academic, social, and emotional.

Then enjoy dinner on the Campus Green, followed by games and activities for parents and students from 5:30 – 7 p.m.

We ask that you please RSVP by Oct. 12 at 3 p.m.

Thursday, October 18  –  John Rosemond will join us for two sessions – an afternoon session specifically for Ravenscroft parents and grandparents and an evening session open to the public. Information and registration information can be found on our website at www.ravenscroft.org/johnrosemond.
