Middle School Dance on Friday, November 6
On Friday, November 6, we will hold our first Middle School Dance of the year in the Dining Hall. For safety and security reasons, we ask that students be dropped off and picked up outside of the entrance of the Dining Hall using the Lower School Carpool Entrance at Lot F. When entering and exiting campus, please use either the Bell Family entrance on Falls of Neuse Road or the Winston Family entrance on Newton Road as the Head of School gate will be closed.
The dance will start promptly at 7:00 p.m. for all grade levels. Students in sixth and seventh grade will depart at 9:00 p.m., and students in eighth grade are invited to stay until 10:00 p.m.
Sixth grade students are also invited to a dessert social from 6:45-7:00 p.m. in the sixth grade hallway sponsored by the 6th Grade Parent Representatives. Sixth grade students interested in attending the social before the dance may be dropped off in the middle school parking lot and enter the middle school through the exterior doors located closest to the 6th Grade Hallway and Middle School Makerspace. Teresa Taylor, 6th Grade Team Leader, will escort sixth grade students to the Dining Hall after the social.
The theme of the dance is Red, White, and Blue. Please assist us in ensuring that dance attire for this evening meets the expectations of our dress code and is aligned with the theme of the dance.
As part of the Middle School Student Leadership Council’s partnership with the Upper School’s Serving our Soldiers Club, we are encouraging students to bring unopened Halloween candy that can be sent to service men and women. Collection boxes will be located at the entrance of the Dining Hall.
Thank you in advance for clearly communicating with your children the importance of riding with the authorized adult to and from the dance. Prompt pickup is also an important safety concern and is greatly appreciated by the faculty chaperones.
