The trip to the Museum of Life and Science always proves to be a real treat and learning adventure for all our Faculty Extended Day students and teachers. From the many animals, butterflies and insects, to the exploration of water and air sciences the students are challenged mentally and physically. The use of outdoor space at this beautiful site always gives young students a place to move and enjoy community time as well.

Students in our 5th and Middle school Extended day group, do a smoothie challenge on a Friday afternoon in January. With many healthy ingredients to choose from, the students are instructed to break into groups of three and create their own smoothie. Each smoothie is then judged for consistency and taste.

On Friday December 9th, 3rd and 4th grade students got to play a group game, called “Winter Scenes”. During this rousing game, the students were broken down into 4 teams where they had to work together to create a winter scene that included many criteria, such as; a house, a tree with a star on top, etc.
In order for a team to win, they had to have all criteria that their teachers, Ms. Sledge and Mrs. Pendergrass noted on a visible poster and they were judged by their peers.
Enjoy these photos of this exciting game.
On November 21st, 2016, three days before Thanksgiving, our youngest Ravens alongside their teachers,(Mrs. Peggy Bass and Mrs. Kyundan Choi),spent time preparing for Thanksgiving.
Using a Native American tradition, the students and teachers sat down in a circle and each had a turn to hold and use the “talking stick”. During their turn holding this Native American tool, each student was honored with silence while they had the opportunity to speak about what were grateful for.
Enjoy these moments caught on camera.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
