Christmas Chopsticks

‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house,

Not a creature was stirring not even a mouse.

All the stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

In the hope that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

He’s bringing lots of toys, for girls and boys.

But wait until you see that Merry Christmas Tree.

So, On! Dasher, On! Dancer, On! Prancer and Vixen,

On! Comet, On! Cupid, On! Donner and Blitzen!

To the top of the roof, to the top of the wall,

Here they come and they’re say’n, “Merry Christmas to all!”

‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house,

Not a creature was stirring not even a mouse.

All the stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

In the hope that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

Deck the hall with boughs of holly. Fa la la la la.

‘Tis the season to be jolly. Fal la la la la la la la la.

‘Twas the night before Christmas.

All the stockings were hung for St. Nicholas.

So, On! Dasher, On! Dancer, On! Prancer and Vixen,

On! Comet, On! Cupid, On! Donner and Blitzen!

To the top of the roof, to the top of the wall,

Here they come and they’re say’n, “Merry Christmas to all!”

We wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas___________

Carol of the Star

A star, a shining star, led wise men on their way

to find that Bethl’em town where lay a holy babe.

Ve – ni- te a-do-re-mus Do-mi-num,

Ve – ni- te a-do-re-mus Do-mi-num,

A star, a guiding star, let angels from above.

To seek a tiny baby, surround Him with their love.

Ve – ni- te a-do-re-mus Do-mi-num,

Ve – ni- te a-do-re-mus Do-mi-num,

A star, a mighty star, did shine o’er all the earth.

To welcome Him with joy, proclaim His wondrous birth.

Ve – ni- te a-do-re-mus Do-mi-num,

Ve – ni- te a-do-re-mus Do-mi-num

Holiday Music for LS Choir

Before we know it, the holidays will be here!  Below you will find holiday music for Lower School Choir.  Happy Practicing!!!

Go Tell It On The Mountain

Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and ev’rywhere.

Go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born.

While shepherds kept their watching o’er silent flocks by night,

Behold throughout the heavens, there shone a holy light.

Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and ev’rywhere.

Go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born.

The shepherds feared and trembled when lo, above the earth

Rang out the angel chorus that hailed our Savior’s birth.

Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and ev’rywhere.

Go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born.

Down in a lowly manger the humble Christ was born,

And God sent us salvation that blessed Christmas morn.

Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and ev’rywhere.

Go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born.

That Jesus Christ is born.

Christmas Toys on Parade

Trumpets herald a special day when they begin to play their blazing song;

Snare drums steadily keep the beat coaxing the eager feet to march along.

Colors of ev’ry shade and hue pass in full review before their eyes.

Toyland suddenly springs to life, toys of ev’ry size now mobilize.

Whenever the music starts to play, they fall in line, they move in time.

Whenever the music comes their way, they hear the sound, they march around in bright array.

Whenever the music starts to play, they fall in line, they move in time.

Whenever the music comes their way, Christmas toys are now on parade, ————-

On their way to Toyland, Toyland, wonder inspiring joy land!

While you dwell within it, you’re as happy as can be.

Toyland, Toyland, mystical, merry joy land!

Once you’ve crossed its border  you may never want to leave.———————-

Toyland town is locked up tight and ev’rything is quiet for the night,

When suddenly the clock strikes twelve and the fun begins.

Here them all cheering, now they are nearing, toys as far as you can see.

Horses are prancing soldiers advancing, adding to the pageantry.

Coronets flashing, royalty passing, Toyland Town is all arrayed.

Oh, the sights that you will see when Christmas toys are on parade,

When Christmas toys are on parade!

Grandparent’s and Special Friends Day – Grade Level Music

Hello! Before we know it, it will be time for our Grandparent’s and Special Friends program.  We have already begun working on the music in the Lower School Music room.  I would love for the students to practice at home as well!  The music and lyrics can be found below!

PreK and Kindergarten

—Make New Friends—

Make new friends, but keep the old.
One is silver and the other gold.
Silver shines and gold does, too.
Keep them both, they will shine for you.

1st and 2nd Grade

—Where Can We Find Peace?—

Where can we find peace? Where can we find love?
In the eyes of others, in the skies above.
Where can we find hope? Where can we find joy?
In the smiles of a stranger, in the face of a girl and boy.
Peace, love, hope and joy.
Reach out your heart and touch someone.
Peace, love, hope and joy.
These are the things that make us one.
Where can we find peace? Where can we find love?
In the world around us. One the wings of a dove.
Where can we find hope? Where can we find joy?
In the arms of a mother of a newborn girl or boy.
Peace, love, hope and joy.
Reach out your heart and touch someone.
Peace, love, hope and joy.
These are the things that make us one.

3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade

—With A Song—

We come from many places. We come with many dreams.
We come with many faces. We’re different, so it seems.
But when we sing together, we’re singing with one voice.
Yes, when we sing together, we will rejoice.
With a song, we are united.
With a song, we are one.
With a song, we’re joined together.
With a song, we’ve only just begun.
Our lives are filled with music. Our hearts are filled with song.
Ah_________ united, together we are strong.
The melody is moving.  The harmony is bright.
And, when we sing together, we sing with joy, we sing with might.
With a song, we are united.
With a song, we are one.
With a song, we’re joined together.
With a song, we’ve only just begun.  We’ve just begun. (repeat)
With a song, we’ve only just begun.
We’ve just begun. We’ve just begun. With a song.

Gearing Up For Veteran’s Day!

Hello Parents!  It’s that time to prepare our students for Veteran’s Day.  Each grade will be singing a different song for each branch to honor our Veterans.  In this blog post you will find the lyrics and song with just the piano accompaniment and the piano with vocals.  Please help your child learn this music as they proudly sing to honor our Veterans for Veteran’s day!

PreK/Kindergarten –

You’re a grand old flag,
You’re a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You’re the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev’ry heart beats true
under the Red, White and Blue,
Where there’s never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.

 (With Vocals)

First Grade –

Off we go into the wild blue yonder,
Climbing high into the sun;
Here they come zooming to meet our thunder,
At ’em boys, Give ‘er the gun! (Give ‘er the gun now!)
Down we dive, spouting our flame from under,
Off on one terrible course!
We live in fame or go down in flame. Hey!
Nothing’ll stop the U.S. Air Force!

Second Grade –

Over hill
Over dale
We will hit the dusty trail
And those caissons go rolling along
In and out
Hear them shout
Countermarch
And right about
And those caissons go rolling along
Then it’s Hi! Hi! Hee!
In the field artillery
Sound off your numbers
Loud and strong
For where’er you go
You will always know
That the caissons are rolling along

River in Judea

Often times I dream of music, of the river that freely flows.

And it sings a song sweeter than honey, one everybody knows.

Late at night I hear it singings then again when I wake at dawn.

And it fills me up with hope and goodwill, the will to go one, go on.

There is a river in Judea that I heard of long ago.
And it’s a singing, ringing, river that my soul cries out to know.

I believe it keeps on trav’lin but it rests on the Sabbath day.

And the time when it pauses in stillness, I almost hear it pray.

When I’m weary and downhearted, how I long for the song it sings.

For the calm within its gentle blue, the peace that it brings, it brings.

There is a river in Judea that I heard of long ago.
And it’s a singing, ringing, river that my soul cries out to know.

May the time not be too distant when we meet by the river shore.

‘Till then dream of that wonderful day as we wing once more, once more.

There is a river in Judea that I heard of long ago.
And it’s a singing, ringing, river that my soul cries out to know.

Happiness Runs

Happiness runs in a circular motion, Love is a little boat upon the sea.

Ev’ryone is a part of ev’rything anyway, you can be happy if you let yourself be.

Happiness runs in the rain or sunshine, happiness runs wherever I may be.

Happiness runs!

The Bumblebee

A very busy bumblebee is buzzing somewhere near to me.

Buzzing to the right, and then clear out of sight!

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

A very busy bumblebee is buzzing somewhere near to me.

Buzzing all around, then hovering near the ground.

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Bumblebee, near to me, busy as a bee can be.

Rather clumsy, you’ll agree, that bumbling bumble bee.

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

A very busy bumblebee is buzzing somewhere near to me.

Buzzing o’er my head, then near to my ear instead.

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

A very busy bumblebee is buzzing somewhere near to me.

Then he flies away, then hurries back to stay.

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Bumblebee, near to me, busy as a bee can be.

Rather clumsy, you’ll agree, that bumbling bumble bee.

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Meanwhile, the queen hovers in her hive.

Surrounded by drones, glad to be alive.

Character Tree Song and Lyrics

The Character Tree Song

INTRODUCTION

Out in the garden by my classroom door.

Seeds were planted when I was barely four.

Slowly growing came a big strong tree,

and on each branch grew messages for me.

Then my teachers said: “Let’s find out what they could be!”

CHORUS

Under the shelter of our Character Tree,

Our minds are opened to the traits we see.

I learn all together with my school family,

By following the path that it’s teaching me.

VERSES

Number One…Get it done…

You can count on me cause that’s RE-SPON-SI-BI-LI-TY,

Number Two…Good for you….

DE-DI-CA-TION, never give up will see you through.

Number threeRE-SPECT from me….

I will care for who you are and how you feel and what you see.

Number Four ….SPI-RIT galore (GO TEAM!).

I’ll be on your team and cheer you that’s for sure.

Number Five … I will strive…

to show COM-PAS-SION, I will help you out

when you feel down.

Number Six…This will stick…

HONOR tells the truth and teaches us to trust.

There is one we haven’t done.

All the others on this one depend and firmly rest.

Standing strong we march along,

It is COUR-AGE that we bravely build upon.

CHORUS

Under the shelter of our Character Tree,

Our minds are opened to the traits we see.

I learn all together with my school family,

By following the path that it’s teaching me.
