Why We Sing

A sound of hope, a sound of peace, a sound that celebrates and speaks what we believe.

A sound of love, a sound so strong.  It’s amazing what is given when we share a song.

This is why_______ we sing, why we lift our voice, why we stand as one in harmony.

This is why_______ we sing, why we lift our voice.  Take my hand and sing with me.

Soothe a soul, mend a heart, bring together lives that have been torn apart.

Share a joy, find a friend. It’s a never-ending gift that circles back again.

This is why_______ we sing, why we lift our voice, why we stand as one in harmony.

This is why_______ we sing, why we lift our voice.  Take my hand and sing with me.

Music builds a bridge, it can tear down a wall.

Music is a language that can speak to one and all!

This is why_______ we sing, why we lift our voice, why we stand as one in harmony.

This is why_______ we sing, why we lift our voice.  Take my hand and sing with me.

This________ is why________ we_____ sing______!

Dreams that Children Dream

In the golden light of morning, with the rising of the sun,

our anticipation build for the adventures soon to come.

There are mountain tops to conquer, there are oceans to explore.

In the dreams that children dream, the world’s an open door.

There is mystery and magic in the simplest kinds of things;

In the colors of the rainbow, in the song the robin sings.

There are friends to be remembered, there are friends we’ve yet to meet.

In the dreams that children dream, the world’s a place of peace.

Dream,____________ dream with me______________

The dreams that children dream, the dreams we dream.

Dream,____________ dream with me______________

Of what our world could be.

In the glowing warmth of evening, when the day’s adventures end,

There are memories to cherish, there is hope to start again.

There are shining stars to wish on in the sky of midnight blue;

In the dreams that children dream, they really do come true.

In the dreams_____we dream______ they really do come true____________.

Bleak Midwinter’s Silent Night

(Unison)

In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan,

Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone.

Snow had fallen, snow on snow,

Snow on snow,

In the bleak midwinter, long, long ago.

(2 Part – Everyone)

Silent night, holy night!

All is calm, all is bright

Round yon virgin mother and child.

Holy Infant, so tender and mild,

Sleep in heavenly peace, in heav’nly peace, sleep in heav’nly peace.

(Part 1)

In the bleak midwinter.

Silent night, in the bleak midwinter.

(Part 2)

Silent night, holy night.

Christmas Music for Lower School Choir

Hello!  It’s that time of year again to start learning and rehearsing the music for Christmas and Lower School Choir.  Have a Jingle Jangle time practicing these cheerful tunes!

Christmas Time Is Here

Christ-mas time is here; hap-pi-ness and cheer;

Fun for all that chil-dren call their fa-v’rite time of year.

Snow-flakes in the air; car-ols ev-’ry-where;

Olden times and an-cient rhymes of love, and dreams to share.

Sleigh-bells in the air; beau-ty ev-’ry-where;

yule-tide by the fire-side, and joy-ful mem-’ries there.

Christ-mas time is here; fam’lies draw-ing near.

Oh, that we could al-ways see such spir-it through the year.

Sleigh-bells in the air; beau-ty ev-’ry-where;

yule-tide by the fire-side, and joy-ful mem-’ries there.

Christ-mas time is here; fam’lies draw-ing near.

Oh, that we could al-ways see such spir-it through the year.

Oh, that we could al-ways see such spir-it shine through Christ-mas, Christ-mas Christ-mas,

Christ-mas time is here.

Come on, get read-y; it’s time to deck the hall!

Deck the hall with boughs of hol-ly, Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Tis the sea-son to be jol-ly, Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Build Me A World

Build me a world where there’s hope for children to grow with no poverty no hatred or war.

Build me a world where there’s room to move in with wide open scenery and clear skies above.

I’ll climb the mountains and look out over the sea.

I’ll build the bridges connecting people to me.

Build me a world where there’s no more sickness.

We share all our promises, the rich and the poor.

I’ll build this world if you’ll stand beside me.

Give me hope, give me faith, give me love.

I’ll climb the mountains and look out over the sea.

I’ll build the bridges connecting people to me.

Build me a world where there’s no more sickness.

We share all our promises the rich and the poor.

I’ll build a world if you’ll stand beside me.

Give me hope, give me faith, give me love.
