What Wonderful Music Ringing Loud and Clear

Hello! I would like to extend a warm, proud, and happy congratulations to every lower school musician on their awesome performances during the Veteran’s Day Program and the Grandparent’s and Special Friend’s Day.  The music was wonderful and the the students exhibited leadership skills in their behavior.  They really act like musicians and performers.  I am so very proud of all of the students.  If you would like to go back and watch the programs, please visit the links below. You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly!
Think of a wonderful thought, any merry little thought.
Think of Christmas, think of snow.
Think of sleigh bells, off you go, like reindeer in the sky!
You can fly! You can fly! You can fly!

Think of the happiest things; It’s the same as having wings.
Take the path that moonbeams make.
If the moon is still awake, you’ll see him wink his eye!
You can fly! You can fly! You can fly!

Up you go, with a heigh and how, to the stars beyond the blue.
There’s a Neverland waiting for you,
where all your happy dreams come true.
Ev’ry dream that you dream’ll come true.

When there’s a smile in your heart, there’s not better time to start.
Think of all the joy you’ll find when you leave the world behind,
and bid your cares goodbye.
You can fly, You can fly! You can fly! You can fly! You can fly!

1st Grade Musical -1st Song

Hello! In the upcoming semester, I will be updating the blog with musical music for various grade levels.  Here is the 1st song for the 1st Grade musical, Welcome to the Jungle.  The songs title is Jungle Party Tonight!

Jungle Party Tonight. Below you will find the lyrics to the music (realize the lyrics we will be singing have different words compared to what is on the recording – your child/children know that we will be singing different words and to switch the words out when practicing).  You will also find two musical tracks – JungleParty WITH WORDS and Jungle Party WITHOUT WORDS.  Please have your child/children listen to the songs at home and practice.  Thanks so much and please let me know if you have any questions.  Like I said before, you will get more information in January about the upcoming musical.  Thanks!

Jungle Party Tonight!
The giraffes are a-singing delight.
The monkeys are a-swinging just right.
Lets take a boat to Bot-swa-na, a camera to Cam-er-oon-
And have a party tonight! A jungle party tonight!
You’ll make a monkey out of me (ee! ee!)
a happy hippo-pa-to-mas of you (oo! oo!)
Zoom down to Zambia, maybe to Na-mi-bi-a,
We’ll hear a lion roar! (roar!)
Maybe hear an elephant snore! (snore)
Playing in the jungle is swell.
You’ll have lots of stories to tell.
Tanning in Tan-zan-ia or sunning in So-mal-i-a,
Let out a Tarzan yell! (everybody!)
Let out a Tarzan yell!
You’ll make a monkey out of me (ee! ee!)
a happy hippo-pa-to-mas of you (oo! oo!)
Zoom down to Zambia, maybe to Na-mi-bi-a,
We’ll hear a lion roar! (roar!)
Maybe hear an elephant snore! (snore)
Let’s all go to Africa! We’ll let go in Africa,
They’ll all know in Africa that we’re gonna party tonight!
A jungle party tonight!
You’ll make a monkey out of me (ee! ee!)
a happy hippo-pa-tomas of you (oo! oo!)
Zoom down to Zambia, maybe to Na-mi-bi-a,
We’ll hear a lion roar! (roar!)
coda = ending
Make a monkey out of me (ee! ee!)
I’ll make a monkey out of you! (oo oo)
Zoom down to Zambia, maybe to Na-mi-bi-a,
You’ll be a monkey, too. (oo oo!)
Maybe put you in a zoo (uh! oh!)
A jungle party for you! (oo! oo!)

Raving Ravens Spring Song – PRACTICE!

Hello!  I am going ahead and attaching a new song for Raving Ravens to learn.  This song is rather challenging, so I suggest getting to work on practicing and memorizing.  Thanks!

The Traveler’s Song

When we started out, I thought I knew where I was goin’.

I thought I knew all of the curves and forks this road and I would take.

(Both Parts)

But it’s amazing how someone else can make you see the things you never knew,

And with a kind voice and gentle hands, they help you understand.

This road and you have made me change my plans.

Part 1 – Oo.________________ Part 2 – Walking down this road I’ve said things I haven’t meant,

Part 1 – Oo.________________ Part 2 – and I’ve meant to say some things I never did.

(Both Parts)

But the things I learned from list’ning to your wisdom,

have made my voice much stronger on the way.

This road and you have taught me what to say.

What I never knew was that I walked with my eyes closed.

Part 1 – One line for me to cross  Part 2 – The horizon was just a line to cross.

Part 2 – And then I

Both parts – walked with you

Part 1 – and I saw a diff’rent shade of living that brought color to my skies.

Part 2 – I saw a diff’rent shade, living that brought color to my skies.

Both Parts – This road and you have opened up my eyes.

Both Parts – When I lend my voice to something greater than myself,

To something that is out of my control.

Then this journey takes on a special quality;

I see something new in ev’ry living thing.  This road and you have taught me how to sing,

Have taught me how to sing, Have taught me how to sing!

(Part 1)

(Part 2)

(Descant)

(Piano Only)

(Full Mix – All Parts)
