Under the Sea – 2nd Grade

Under The Sea
The seaweed is always greener in somebody else’s lake.
You dream about going up there, but that is a big mistake.
Just look at the world around you, right here on the ocean floor.
Such wonderful things surround you, what more is you lookin’ for?
Under the sea, under the sea
darlin’ it’s better down where it’s wetter, take it from me.
Up on the shore they work all day.  Out in the sun they slave away,
while we devotin’ full time to floatin’ under the sea.
Down here all the fish is happy, as off through the waves they roll.
The fish on the land ain’t happy. They sad ’cause they in the bowl.
But fish in the bowl is lucky, they in for a worser fate.
One day when the boss get hungry, guess who gon’ be on the plate?
Under the sea, under the sea
nobody beat us, fry us and eat us in fricasee.
We what the land folks love to cook.
Under the sea we off the hook. We got no troubles,
life is the bubbles, under the sea.

Stars and Magic Happens

These songs are songs for Lower School Choir members to learn who are in 3rd grade OR new to choir in 4th and 5th grade.

Stars

What do the stars do up in the sky, higher than the wind can blow, or the clouds can fly?

Each star in it’s own glory circles, circles, circles still;

as it was lit to shine and set, and do its Maker’s will.

If stars dropped out of heaven, and if flowers took their place,

The sky would still look very fair, and fair earth’s face.

Winged angels might fly down to us to pluck the stars,

be we could only long for flowers beyond the cloudy bars.

2nd Grade Disney Musical – New Music

Hello! Here is new music that we are learning for the Disney Musical – Please have your child practice the words and music at home.  The words are HARD so please make sure the student practices the music.  Thanks!

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Even though the sound of it is something quite atrocious,
If you say it loud enough, you’ll always sound precocious,
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
um did-dle did-dle did-dle, um did-dle ay!
um did-dle did-dle did-dle, um did-dle ay!

Because I was afraid to speak when I was just a lad,
me father gave me nose a tweak and told me I was bad.
But then one day I learned a word that saved me achin’ nose.
The biggest word you ever heard and this is how it goes!

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

He traveled all around the world and ev’rywhere he went,
he’d use this word and all would say “there goes a clever gent!”
When dukes and ma’arajas come to pass the time with me,
I say my special word and then they ask me out to tea!

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

So when the cat has got your tongue, there’s no need for dismay.
Just summon up this word and then you’ve got a lot to say.
But better use it carefully or it could change your life.
One night I said it to me girl and now me girl’s me wife!

She’s Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

The Bare Necessities
Look for the bare necessities,
the simple bare necessities;
forget about your worries and your strife.
I mean the bare necessities,
or Mother Nature’s recipies
that bring the bare necessities of life.

Wherever I wander, wherever I roam,
I couldn’t be fonder of my big home.
The bees are buzzin’ in the tree
to make some honey just for me.
When you look under the rocks and plants
and take a glance at the fancy ants,
then maybe try a few.
The bare necessities of life will come to you.

Look for the bare necessities,
the simple bare necessities;
forget about your worries and your strife.
I mean the bare necessities,
that’s why a bear can rest at ease
with just the bare necessities of life.

So try and relax, yeah, in my back yard.
If you act like that bee acts, you’re workin’ too hard.
Don’t spend your time just lookin’ around
for something you want that can’t be found.
When you find out you can live without it
and go along not thinkin’ about it,
I’ll tell you something true.
The bare necessities of life will come to you,
they’ll come to you, yeah!

Fat ones, skinny ones, fair ones too.

But the one little duck with the feather on his back,

He led the others with his “quack, quack, quack.”

And you may think that this is the end… Well it is!

Top Of The World

Such a feelin’s comin’ over me,

There is wonder in most ev’rything I see.

Not a cloud in the sky, got the sun in my eyes;

And I — won’t be surprised if it’s a dream.

Ev’rything I want the world to be

Is now coming true, especially for me;

And the reason is clear, it’s because you are here.

You’re the nearest thing to heaven that i’ve seen.

I’m on the top of the world lookin’ down on creation;

And the only explanation I can find

Is the love that i’ve found ever since you’ve been around.

Your love’s put me at the top of the world!

Something in the wind has learned my name;

And it’s tellin’ me that things are not the same.

In the leaves on the trees and the touch of the breeze,

There’s a pleasin’ sense of happiness for me.

There is only one thing on my mind:

When this day is through I hope that I can find

That tomorrow will be just the same as you and me.

All I need will be mine, if you are here.

I’m on the top of the world lookin’ down on creation;

And the only explanation I can find

Is the love that i’ve found ever since you’ve been around.

Your love’s put me at the top of the world!

I’m on the top of the world lookin’ down on creation;

And the only explanation I can find

Is the love that i’ve found ever since you’ve been around.

Your love’s put me at the top, put me at the top, put me at the top of the world!
