Lower School Choir Graduation Piece 2019

Child of Tomorrow

Child of tomorrow, look now and see,

This world awaits you and all that you’ll be.

Yours are the heavens and yours are the seas,

Child of tomorrow, go forth and follow your dream.

Child of tomorrow, soon you will go,

Knowledge and wisdom are yours to behold.

Yours are the heavens and all things below

Child of tomorrow, find your dream wherever you go.

Walk boldly and humbly wherever you go.

Stand proudly and honor the truth that you know.

Follow where your heart leads for there you must go,

Always remembering the path that leads you home.

Child of tomorrow, look now and see,

This world awaits you and all that you’ll be.

Yours are the heavens and yours are the seas,

Child of tomorrow, go forth and follow your dream.

Go forth and follow your dream.

Spring Music – Lower School Choir

I’m Walking On Sunshine
I used to think maybe you loved me now baby I’m sure
And I just can’t wait till the day when you knock on my door
Now every time I go for the mailbox, gotta hold myself down
‘Cause I just can’t wait ’til you write me you’re coming around
I’m walking on sunshine (Whoa)
I’m walking on sunshine (Whoa)
I’m walking on sunshine (Whoa)
And don’t it feel good
Hey, alright now
And don’t it feel good, hey
I used to think maybe you loved me, now I know that it’s true
And I don’t want to spend my whole life, just waiting for you
Now I don’t want you back for the weekend
Not back for a day
I said baby I just want you back
And I want you to stay (Oh yeah now!)
I’m walking on sunshine (Whoa)
I’m walking on sunshine (Whoa)
I’m walking on sunshine (Whoa)

And don’t it feel good

Hey, alright now
And don’t it feel good (Yeah!)
And don’t it feel good
Walking on sunshine
Walking on sunshine
I feel the love, I feel the love, I feel the love that’s really real
I feel the love, I feel the love, I feel the love that’s really real
I’m on sunshine baby (Ow! Oh yeah!)
I’m on sunshine baby (Ow!)
I’m walking on sunshine (Whoa)
I’m walking on sunshine (Whoa)
I’m walking on sunshine (Whoa)

And don’t it feel good (Hey! Alright now!)

And don’t it feel good (Hey yeah now!)
I’m walking on sunshine, Whoa
And don’t it feel good

Festival of Lights

O, Hanukkah, O, Hanukkah, we’ll light the menorah;
we’ll celebrate the season by dancing the horah!
Happiness and joy on this holiday.
Ev’ry day for eight days children will play!
And while we are playing, the candles of Hanukkah glow!

Shining so brightly, reminding us nightly
of wonders of days long ago.
Shining so brightly, reminding us nightly
of wonders of days long ago

O, Hanukkah, O, Hanukkah, we’ll light the menorah;
we’ll celebrate the season by dancing the horah!
Happiness and joy on this holiday.
Ev’ry day for eight days children will play!
And while we are playing, the candles of Hanukkah glow!

If I Were A Reindeer

If I were a reindeer, where would I be?
Livin’ at the North Pole, nat’rally.
If I were a reindeer, what would I do?
I’d fly fly fly with Santa, it’s true!

bridge:
Antlers on top. Pullin’ a sleigh.
Ready to fly night or day.
Oh, if I were a reindeer, I’d be flyin’ your way!
If I were a reindeer, what would I see?
Lots of other reindeer, nat’rally.

If I were a reindeer, when would I fly?
I’d fly fly fly with Santa, oh my!

repeat bridge twice

If I were a reindeer, I’d be flyin’ your way.
If I were a reindeer, I’d be flyin’ your way.
I’d be flyin’ your way!
Oh, yeah!

Like The Beat Of A Drum

There’s a change on the horizon.  There’s a change that’s sure to come.
And that change is strong and steady, like the beat of a drum.
In each life there is a spirit.  In each spirit, there’s a light.
And the light is there to guide us, like a bacon in the night.
Let your light be a promise. May it shine with brilliant glow.
Let your light be a light of freedom.  Let it burn, and let it grow.
Keep your hope in times of trouble. Keep your faith in what is right.
Let your heart forever guide you to the truth and to the light.
Let your light be a light of promise.  May it shine with a brilliant glow.
Let your light be a light of freedom.  Let it burn, and let it grow.

Corner of the Sky

Solo – Lower School Doesn’t Sing

Cats fit on the windowsill

Children fit in the snow

Why do I feel I don’t fit in anywhere I go?

Rivers belong where they can ramble

Eagles belong where they can fly

I’ve got to be where my spirit can run free

Got to find my corner of the sky

Every man has his daydreams

Every man has his goal

MIDDLE AND UPPER SCHOOL SING

Rivers belong where they can ramble

Eagles belong where they can fly

I’ve got to be where my spirit can run free

Got to find my corner of the sky

So many men seem destined

To settle for something small

But I won’t rest until I know I’ll have it all

So don’t ask where I’m going

Just listen when I’m gone

And far away you’ll hear me singing

Rivers belong where they can ramble

Eagles belong where they can fly

I’ve got to be where my spirit can run free

Got to find my corner of the sky

Of the sky ——– Corner of the Sky!

Spring 2018 – Lower School Choir Music

Hello! I know this is EARLY BUT – NEVER too early to start practicing!  Here is the music for Raving Ravens this Spring.

Candle On The Water

I’ll be your candle on the water, my love for you will always burn.

I know you’re lost and drifting but the clouds are lifting,

don’t give up you have somewhere to turn.

I’ll be your candle on the water, till ev’ry wave is warm and bright.

My soul is there beside you let this candle guide you,

Soon you’ll see a golden stream of light.

A cold and friendless tide has found you, don’t let the stormy darkness pull you down.

I’ll paint a ray of hope around you circling in the air, lightened by a prayer.

I’ll be your candle on the water, this flame inside of me will grow.

Keep holding on, you’ll make it. Here’s my hand, so take it,

Look for me reaching to how. As sure as  rivers flow, I’ll never let go.

Never let you go. Never let you go. I’ll be your candle on the water.

I’ve Gotta Crow

I’ve gotta crow! (crow sound)

I’m just the cleverest fellow ‘twas ever my fortune to know. (crow sound)

I taught a trick to my shadow to stick to the top of my toe.

I’ve gotta crow!

I’ve gotta brag (crow sound)

I think it’s sweet I have fingers and feet I can wiggle and wag. (crow sound)

I can climb trees and play tag with the breeze in the meadow below.

I’ve gotta crow!

If I were a very ordinary everyday thing, I’d never be heard cockadoodling ‘round like a bird!

That’s absurd!  But, naturally, (crow sound)

when I discover the cleverness of a remarkable me, (crow sound)

How can I hide it when deep down inside, it just tickles me so,

That i’ve gotta let go and crow!

I’m really a rare thing, such a fair thing, I can’t keep still. I’m bursting with pride,

And I just couldn’t keep it inside, if i tried.

So, naturally, (crow sound)

when I discover the cleverness of a remarkable me, (crow sound)

How can I hide it when deep down inside, it just tickles me so,

That i’ve gotta let go and crow! (crow sound)

I Love A Piano

I love a piano, I love a piano, I love to hear somebody play

Upon a piano, a grand piano, it simply carries me away.

I know a fine way to treat a Steinway;

I love to run my fingers o’er the keys, the ivories.

And with the pedal I love to meddle, not only music from Broadway,

I’m so delighted if i’m invited, to hear a long haired genius play.

So you can keep your fiddle and a bow, give me a P-I-A-N-O.

Oh, oh. I love to stop right beside an upright or a high toned baby grand.

Gee, what a sound, wonderful sound; wish I could listen all day!

Easy to smile all of the while, when I hear somebody play.

The tune is ringing; my heart is singing.

Oh, yes, I love to hear that ragtime melody.

Boogie and jazz, razz-a-ma-tazz; anything else that they play.

Happy or blue, classical too; all of it brightens my day.

It’s the finest music I know, and I love it so.

Morning or night, mellow or bright; gee, a piano is grand!

I think pianos are grand!

Go Tell It On The Mountain

Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and ev’rywhere.

Go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born.

While shepherds kept their watching o’er silent flocks by night,

Behold throughout the heavens, there shone a holy light.

Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and ev’rywhere.

Go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born.

The shepherds feared and trembled when lo, above the earth

Rang out the angel chorus that hailed our Savior’s birth.

Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and ev’rywhere.

Go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born.

Down in a lowly manger the humble Christ was born,

And God sent us salvation that blessed Christmas morn.

Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and ev’rywhere.

Go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born.

That Jesus Christ is born.

Christmas Toys on Parade

Trumpets herald a special day when they begin to play their blazing song;

Snare drums steadily keep the beat coaxing the eager feet to march along.

Colors of ev’ry shade and hue pass in full review before their eyes.

Toyland suddenly springs to life, toys of ev’ry size now mobilize.

Whenever the music starts to play, they fall in line, they move in time.

Whenever the music comes their way, they hear the sound, they march around in bright array.

Whenever the music starts to play, they fall in line, they move in time.

Whenever the music comes their way, Christmas toys are now on parade, ————-

On their way to Toyland, Toyland, wonder inspiring joy land!

While you dwell within it, you’re as happy as can be.

Toyland, Toyland, mystical, merry joy land!

Once you’ve crossed its border  you may never want to leave.———————-

Toyland town is locked up tight and ev’rything is quiet for the night,

When suddenly the clock strikes twelve and the fun begins.

Here them all cheering, now they are nearing, toys as far as you can see.

Horses are prancing soldiers advancing, adding to the pageantry.

Coronets flashing, royalty passing, Toyland Town is all arrayed.

Oh, the sights that you will see when Christmas toys are on parade,

When Christmas toys are on parade!

The Bumblebee

A very busy bumblebee is buzzing somewhere near to me.

Buzzing to the right, and then clear out of sight!

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

A very busy bumblebee is buzzing somewhere near to me.

Buzzing all around, then hovering near the ground.

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Bumblebee, near to me, busy as a bee can be.

Rather clumsy, you’ll agree, that bumbling bumble bee.

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

A very busy bumblebee is buzzing somewhere near to me.

Buzzing o’er my head, then near to my ear instead.

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

A very busy bumblebee is buzzing somewhere near to me.

Then he flies away, then hurries back to stay.

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Bumblebee, near to me, busy as a bee can be.

Rather clumsy, you’ll agree, that bumbling bumble bee.

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Meanwhile, the queen hovers in her hive.

Surrounded by drones, glad to be alive.
