Posted in 4th Grade, Astronomy, Chemistry, Environmental - Sustainability, Kingdom Animalia, Physics, and Science Process

So, why would someone want to become a Science Olympian?   It’s the challenge of the competition, learning new things, testing your skill as a model-maker…and, of course, it’s a whole bunch of excitement and fun.

Pasta Bridge Testing

Science Olympiad is a competition with many different events.  Pasta Bridge building; Knowledge and love of Astronomy; Fossils; Weather; Animal Adaptations, Egg drop; Bottle Rockets.  Something for everyone!  Students may win medals in their chosen events and the best cumulative scores win a medal for their school.

Electromagnets Here at Ravenscroft the Lower School club meets every other Wednesday afternoon.  This is our fourth year entering the competition.  Our head coach is Allison Arber, also member of the Upper School team.  While the schedule of events changes from year-to-year, here’s the proposed schedule for this year.  Walk-in events are where students build their device at home and bring it to the competition for testing.
