Grandparents and Special Friends Day

Bring on the turkey and pass the cranberry congealed salad!  However, let’s get through Grandparents and Special Friends Day first!

This special day will be on November 22nd at 1:00pm in the Finley Center.  3rd, 4th, and 5th grade have been working very hard on a joint vocal piece entitled, “Dreams that Children Dream.”  This  beautiful two-part harmony piece has been quite a challenge, but I am so proud of all of their hard work!

What’s New with Drama Troupe?

Drama Troupe has been working hard to prepare for their December 14th sharing, after school in the Richards Hall Annex.  All family, friends, and teachers are welcome to join.

If you are a parent of a drama troupe member, stay tuned for an email regarding the sharing!  Drama Troupe will be performing numbers from Bye, Bye, Birdie and Rent, as well as a song by well-known pop singer, Adele.

I’m sure all of you have seen the Mannequin Challenge on-line?  Drama Troupe decided they would take on this challenge last week, and I think they did a pretty great job!

Drama Troupe Mannequin Challenge

Drama Troupe for 9/30/15

Hello there!

Drama Troupe will resume this coming Wednesday!

We will finish learning  our pop song component, “Boom, Clap” by Charlie XCX, and the students seem to really enjoy it! Auditions for solos will be held soon. The altered lyrics for the song are posted below, and the arrangement is extremely close to the original.  I have a preview link to a recording  below for your child to use for practice if they so choose to, but if you would like to find the original on YouTube, that is fine too.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Clap! You’re picture perfect blue
Sunbathing on the moon
Stars shining as your bones illuminateFirst kiss just like it was
Under your influence
You take me over you’re the magic in my brain
This must be loveBoom! Clap!
The sound of my heart
The beat goes on and on and on and on and
Boom! Clap!
You make me feel good
Come up to me, come up to me now
Boom! Clap!
The sound of my heart
The beat goes on and on and on and on and
Boom! Clap!
You make me feel good
Come up to me, come up to me now

No silver or no gold
Could dress me up so good
You’re the glitter in the darkness of my world

Just tell me what to do
I’ll fall right into you
Going under cast a spell just say the word
I feel your love

Boom! Clap!
The sound of my heart
The beat goes on and on and on and on and
Boom! Clap!
You make me feel good
Come up to me, come up to me now
Boom! Clap!
The sound of my heart
The beat goes on and on and on and on and
Boom! Clap!
You make me feel good
Come up to me, come up to me now

You are the light and I will follow
You let me lose my shadow
You are the sun, the glowing halo
And you keep burning me up with all your love, uh

Boom! Clap!
The sound of my heart
The beat goes on and on and on and on and
Boom! Clap!
You make me feel good
Come up to me, come up to me now
Boom! Clap!
The sound of my heart
The beat goes on and on and on and on and
Boom! Clap!
You make me feel good
Come up to me, come up to me now
Boom! Clap!
The sound of my heart
The beat goes on and on and on and on and
Boom! Clap!
You make me feel good
Come up to me, come up to me now
Boom! Clap!
The sound of my heart
The beat goes on and on and on and on and
Boom! Clap!
You make me feel good
Come up to me, come up to me now
