Character Tree Traits in Action
You might have noticed a few of our young Ravens with bald heads and shorter haircuts this past week. We are so proud of the courage it took to take this step, and the compassion they showed for others by participating in Ravenscroft’s St. Baldrick’s event. Way to go, Tyler Cass, Angus Kendall, Shawna Carr, Tosh Holdstock, Tariq Firozvi, Mark Naslund, Kyle Morin, and Stephanie Wadley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All of our 4th graders did a wonderful job in their recent performance of Compose Yourself, and we all enjoyed this musical treat. Two young men stood out when they demonstrated our Character Tree traits on stage. Ben Feldman showed so much courage to step in at the last minute to fill in for someone who was absent and take on additional lines that he had not memorized. When he stumbled a bit, Andrew Bardnini showed such compassion and wrapped his arm around him to pat him on the back immediately to show Ben he was there for him. Well done, gentleman!
One of our third graders is an extremely talented writer and has such a compassionate heart. She recently used her talents to change many of her classmates worlds by handwriting cards with sincere, specific messages to each one. A parent of one of the girls who received a card was so impressed that she came by my office to show me her daughter’s note. Part of the message inside said, “Oh, how I admire your kindness. I am so honored to be your reading partner.” Thank you, Jessie Zhou for making a positive difference in your classmates’ lives.
I would also like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our PK-3 grade students who participated in the Spanish Sing Along. Your voices and your spirit filled the Lower School gym with such joy, and all who attended were able to see the benefits of your efforts in the classroom. Great Job!
