Character Tree Traits in Action
On April 30th, the Lower School Battle of the Books team finished in first place at the NC Regional Championships held at Canterbury School in Greensboro. This accomplishment was the result of many months of collaboration and dedication to the team’s success. Students were required to read 12-17 books (often reading each book 2-3 times) and attend weekly practices during their lunch breaks for the first semester. During the second semester, practice times increased to 2-3 times per week in order to prepare for the competitions. Team members include: Eleanor Campbell, Charlotte Tannebaum, Caroline Rutigliano, Elle Schantz, Ainsley Paradise, Martina Frederick, Jack Alspaugh, Edward Purrington, Leo Wu, Mark Nasland, Olivia Sturges, and Julia Avery
Mrs. Brown shared with me this week how proud she was of second grade student Brian Fink and the fine example he sets for his classmates. He is kind and considerate every day. During the Time Machine practices, he has been such a great listener and showed respect for the other students as they practiced their parts. Way to go, Brian!
Kindergarten student Grant Corkum showed great courage last week at our 150th day celebration. He stood up in front of the ENTIRE Ravenscroft community and led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. We were all very proud of Grant and the leadership that he showed.
