I am Standing Tall this year and I am asking students, parents, and faculty to join me.
Yes, I do understand I am 6 feet 3 inches tall and standing tall comes naturally for me, but what I am asking for does not require physical height.
Standing Tall is being PROUD of who you are and what you represent. It is striving to be your best self on a daily basis; celebrating when you experience success and being committed to future growth when you do not.
As the Head of Lower School, I am Standing Tall this year by:
having high expectations for all members of the Lower School community and not apologizing for having them;
holding all members of the Lower School community accountable to be their best selves every day;
thinking creatively, trying new things, and challenging others to join me on the journey of continuous growth;
and listening to feedback with an open mind and making adjustments when needed.
Most importantly, I am Standing Tall this year by showing my PRIDE and JOY for the many blessings that come along with being a Ravenscroft Raven!
Imagine the possibilities if we all Stand Tall and show our Ravenscroft PRIDE…
How will you Stand Tall this year?

This post was inspired by the book Stand Tall, Molly Lou Melon that I recently read to the whole Lower School at our first Tree Talk where we gather as a Lower School community to discuss our goals and relationships with each other. Molly Lou Melon is an endearing character who reminds us how important it is to have a strong sense of self when leading and attempting to change our worlds.
